Apple Hires Tag Heuer Exec, iWatch Rumours Increase

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Apple is known for high-end products and kit that people can’t wait to get their hands on!  The world is always waiting for the next amazing creation by <a href="http://www.apple.com/" style="color: #0092dd;" target="_blank" title="Apple">Apple</a>.  Right now, its the iWatch.  What makes its arrival even more exciting, is the fact that Patrick Prunjaux, the sales director of <a href="http://www.tagheuer.com/" style="color: #0092dd;" target="_blank" title="tagheuer">TAG Heuer</a>, has recently been nabbed by Apple.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Apple seems to have a knack for stealing highly sought out executives, especially in the last few months.  Chief Executive Angela Ahrendts, previously from Burberry, became head of retail and online sales in May; Paul Deneve, former head of <a href="http://www.ysl.com/gb" style="color: #0092dd;" target="_blank" title="YSL">Yves Saint Laurent</a>, was also hired last year in order to work on special projects.</span></div>

Dunn and Hillam's Desert House was designed to withstand the extreme desert conditions while remaining energy efficient. The AIA cited the project's "genuine sensibility to environmental management in this specific climate."</span></div>

The clients requested that the house engage with the surrounding landscape, that it provide multiple places to be use depending on the time of day and weather, and that it minimize energy usage.</span></div>

The house is cut into the rock and uses the thermal mass of the rock to regulate its internal temperature.</span></div>

The fly-roof sits 600 mm (24 in) above the insulated roof, creating a pocket of warm air during the day. This creates a "thermal draw," helping to pull cool air up from the rock below into the enclosed central courtyard and creating the house's own micro-climate. The cool air can then be drawn into the building through low windows around the courtyard.</span></div>

This means that the chance of cool air leaking out of the house (or warm leaking in) is minimized. Similarly, temperature in different sections of the house can be managed independently.</span></div>

The glove uses a Bluetooth 4.0 LE module in its wrist, sensors in each fingertip and a magnet in the thumb to wirelessly control your phone. Each finger offers single and double-tap actions to control the phone's music. You can play, pause, skip forward, and backtrack through music; control volume; and activate Siri.</span></div>

It's built to work seamlessly from within the outer glove, so there's no reason to remove anything when controlling your music on the move.</span></div>

Buyers can use one set of electronic innards for multiple gloves and wristbands.</span></div>

However, GoGlove designers plan on releasing an API next year so that app developers can make their apps compatible with the wireless hardware. It imagines athletes controlling things like fitness-tracking apps from the comfort of their fingertips.</span></div>

The $129 estimated retail price is well under the $235 price of the cheapest BearTek wireless glove ($95 classic glove + $140 module) and reflects the advantage of offering the technology in a thin, inexpensive liner, as opposed to a heavy winter glove.</span></div>

This means the 18-inch panel can be rolled up into a cylinder with a radius of 3 cm (1.18 in) without the function of the 1,200 x 810 pixel display being affected.</span></div>

With transmittance of 30 percent, the company says the panel is superior to existing transparent LCD panels that generally achieve around 10 percent transmittance (although rival Samsung unveiled a transparent color LCD panel in 2011 boasting transmittance of over 15 percent). LG Display claims to have also reduced the haze of the panel, caused by circuit devices and film components, to just 2 percent.</span></div>
