<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">For many years, Google has been testing regular cars equipped with all sorts of sensors, navigation technology, and computers in order to drive ‘themselves’.  However, whilst doing this, they have created their own prototype vehicle from scratch in which no human may at any time, take control (Though there is an emergency stop button…phew!)</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The first 100 test versions will have controls in them but in the future, there are hopes that they won’t need them.  The controls are needed only so that the laws of California, Nevada and Florida which allow autonomous cars but only if the person ‘driving’ can take control if needed.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The director of Google’s Driverless car project, Chris Urmson, said that the goal of the project was to run lots of tests in California where <a href="http://www.google.com/about/company/facts/locations/" style="color: #0092dd;" target="_blank" title="Googel Head Office Info">Google is based</a>.  His argument is that driverless cars will eventually improve road safety which is mostly caused by human error.  He stated that this development is “an important step toward improving road safety and transforming mobility for millions of people”. They also said that it was actually safer taking all controls out of the car because human error did not improve if drivers suddenly have to take over the vehicle. Urmson says, “We saw stuff that made us a little nervous.”  After all, its hard enough to fix a problem while driving, if you are paying attention.  You either trust the machine, or you don’t.</span></div>

Audi has a lighter, simpler design in mind for adventure camping. It is showing the "Q3 camping tent" on a special outdoor version of the crossover at this weekend's VW Wörthersee event in Austria. The inflatable tent joins a kayak rack in giving the car a sporty edge.</span></div>

The tent can be secured to the open rear hatch of the car, creating an extended car/tent space, or set up as a freestanding unit. Audi says that it takes about seven minutes to set up from bag to fully inflated tent. The tent's structure can stand up to 43.5 mph (70 km/h) winds.</span></div>

The Tipoo tent is a car-affixed tent that expands the sleeping capacity of the Yatoo camper-in-a-box system, while the Habitent makes a camper out of an unlikely base vehicle: the Toyota Prius.</span></div>

The headliner is the A3 clubsport quattro concept. Based on the S3 sedan, the car's 2.5-liter five-cylinder TFSI engine is cranked up to 525 hp – that's 211.7 hp per liter, 6.4 lb (2.9 kg)/hp. A series of modifications, including a larger turbocharger, modified intercooler and redesigned intake and exhaust systems, contribute to the power boost, which also comes with 443 lb-ft of torque available between 2,300 and 6,000 rpm. The A3 clubsport quattro shoots to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds before reaching a top speed over 192 mph (310 km/h). A launch control system and electronic stabilization help drivers effectively hone all that output.</span></div>

The multi-plate clutch on the rear axle is designed to divert part of the torque from the front to rear when the driver is engaged in quick cornering.</span></div>

Retuned, driver-adjustable suspension settings lower the A3 clubsport quattro by 10 mm (.4 in) and package extra taut springs and dampers, adding to the car's sporty ride.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">When it's time to bring the 525 ponies to rest, the A3 clubsport quattro relies on the four carbon fiber-ceramic disc brakes peeking out from behind the 21-in wheels rolled in 275/25 R21 tires. The concept also has an air brake system that deploys at higher speeds. The rear spoiler flips to near-vertical position to assist the disc brakes, with Audi claiming that the system decreases stopping distance by close to 40 feet (12 m) when used at 155 mph (250 km/h).</span></div>

"We have pushed the limits in every respect with this show car: power, dynamics, sound, design."</span></div>

Audi has added straight side "blisters" above the front and rear wheels, broadening the car's shoulders. The Magnetic Blue body is complemented by a CFRP-underlined, matte-aluminum-framed grille, CFRP side sill trims, a round metal fuel door and smaller side mirrors. Aerodynamic treatments include the aforementioned active rear spoiler, a rear diffuser and a front splitter.</span></div>

Gizmag first got to chat with Eric Raymond about the Sunseeker Duo at the Green Air Show in Paris, France four years ago, where we were shown a mockup of the cockpit. Raymond turned to Kickstarter in 2012 to raise development funds. Construction was completed by the close of last year, followed by system tests and tweaks before heading up into the skies for solo runs.</div>

Solar Flight says that the Raymonds took off together in the company's third powered airplane from its test facility near Milan, Italy. For take off, the Duo uses energy harvested from the 1,510 solar cells on its wings and tail and stored in a battery pack in the fuselage. Once in the air, the airplane then cruises directly on solar power. The company claims that, with two people on board, it's capable of flights of 12 hours or more.</div>

"Flying the Duo, skimming the white fluffy clouds from above and playing on the sky, I feel like a bird," said Irena Raymond. "No limitations, a pure freedom. It’s so quiet. Compared to a normal airplane, it’s like night and day. You need very good headset in other powered airplanes, but in the Duo you can speak normally even when the motor is running full power, no headset needed. It is unbelievable."</div>

According to sources Android Silver, Google’s new Android programme,  is going to be a very big thing indeed and will see Google working with multiple firms on multiple devices, rather than one manufacturer and one device. The aim of the programme is to offer a premium Android experience, with participating firms receiving preferential treatment as regards software updates.</div>

Android Silver will allow Google to ensure that all Android devices have more consistency and quality, so that customers can have the best Android experience possible. For users that will potentially mean that there will be a bigger choice of high-end Android devices at more reasonable prices. These devices will also come free from the annoying bloatware and unwanted apps because manufacturers will have to adhere to Google’s strict specifications, greatly limiting how many non-Google apps can be pre-installed.</div>

Another advantage to the Silver programme will be that it should do away with the long-standing problem of fragmentation that has plagued Android for some time. Rather than varying customer support experiences and software versions, the Silver programme will ensure that customers receive the up to date version of Android and it is rumored that there will be a 24/7 customer support service through Google Hangouts. It is possible that Google will also offer to loan devices to those who have lost or had their devices stolen.</div>

Another motivation for Google is that it is well documented that Samsung plan to eventually drop Android, which could potentially leave Google with a big gap to fill, especially because Google needs users’ data. Silver will allow Google to minimize the damage so to speak, helping firms to better compete with Samsung and who knows, maybe it will make Samsung reconsider its decision.</div>

According to the <a href="https://twitter.com/evleaks/status/467544182304047104" style="color: #0092dd;" target="_blank">Twitter account @evleaks</a>, we could be seeing Android Silver by February 2015, the Tweet reads: <em> “There is no Nexus 6. Farewell, Nexus. Don’t worry, there’s a silver lining to this cloud… Android Silver, circa February 2015.”</em> By doing away with the Nexus brand, Google will be able to improve the overall Android standard and help it gain more control over its unique operating system.</div>

A t-shirt that can read vital signs?  Now that’s wearable technology!  <a href="http://www.omsignal.com/" style="color: #0092dd;" target="_blank" title="omsignal">OMsignal</a> from Montreal has developed a t-shirt that can read vital signs, check how much calories you’ve burned and even see how stressed you are.</div>

The shirt is connected to an <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/omsignal/id610245753?mt=8" style="color: #0092dd;" target="_blank" title="OM Signal App">application</a> on the iPhone.  The sensors in the shirt send information to the application and then wearers can check their information.</div>

There are all sorts of new and upcoming companies, devoted to creating wearable technology.  OMsignal is one of them.  Their product is made from biometric textiles which is just starting to hit the market.</div>

Like fitness bands, this product monitors the health of the user.  No need for other accessories.  the co-founder of OMsignal states: “Smart clothing is easy because it’s the only wearable medium you’ve already been wearing your whole life.  In a decade, every piece of apparel you buy will have some sort of biofeedback sensors built in it.”</div>

Obviously there are challenges all new technology must face.  The starting price for the t-shirts are $80 which doesn’t seem too expensive but these shirts need a module which powers the shirt.  These cost $120.  Research manager for <a href="http://www.idg.com/www/home.nsf/BySection/IDC_Research" style="color: #0092dd;" target="_blank" title="IDC Research">IDC research</a> says: “The leap that you have to make from a prototype or small-lot sizes of these wearables to an affordable mass-market product is pretty significant.  The price is going to have to come way down before it becomes a product for most consumers.”  Although an exciting breakthrough, the t-shirts will probably be slow to take off in the market at first.  But in a few years, things could change.</div>

So how do these shirts work?  The shirts use a conductive yarn that can transmit electrical signals.  The sensors are so small you can’t even see or feel them.  Although many of this type of ‘smart’clothing requires battery packs, there has been research undergoing, to see if smartphones can charge up the clothing, so to speak.  This is an exciting and new idea where the possibilities are endless.</div>

Of course it’s not all that hard at all to just hook up the charger and plug it in, but it is certainly an inconvenience sometimes – like when you’re nowhere near a power outlet and you’ve ran out of juice. But Apple may have an idea to help extend the life of your iPhone – they wouldn’t be Apple if they didn’t have some new-fangled idea, now would they?</span></div>

That means future iPhones, iPads, and iPods could all feature this technology. It’s not so much of a new idea as it is an updated one – they actually started looking into this around 2008 and obtained a patent for it.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">While there have been various cases which promise to soak in the sun’s rays to charge your phone, this would be the first to actually incorporate solar layers within the touchscreen layers of the phone itself. However, one should’t expect to get a full charge from the sun, as the solar layers would be limited by the size of the phone. Regardless, it would get you some extra power, and that’s always a good thing. It’s probably just going to be used as a convenience feature rather than completely replacing your charger.</span></div>
