I always thought of how bezel-less phones will look, even before the launch of iphone 6 there were quit rumors about the bezel less concept of the iphone 6 even some people came up with fake leaks images of iphone 6 with no bezel at the two sides of the phone as you can see in the picture.
sharp recently announced there new innovative aquas crystal a bezel less phone. Sharp is the first company which has brought this kind of phones to the market. on the first look you can see there is no bezel at the top and sides of the phone but at the bottom there is a thick bezel which holds the screen as well as couple of sensors and a front camera. Phone is not a true bezel-less phone but it is kind of a illusion created by the makers that it looks like it. The edges are rounded off so thats why it looks like a bezel -less phone . the phone is a mid range phone it doesnt have any fancy specs like the samsung or HTC flagship devices.
due to the absence of the bezel this is the most compact 5 inch device yet. if we compare it to an iphone 6 which has a display size of 4.7 inch is still lot bigger than the aquas crystal. at the back you can see the camera and below it has an LED flash and at the bottom of the back cover there is speaker vents and below that is sharp logo. the back cover of the phone is textured similar to the samsung galaxy s5
aquas has a 8 mp camera which takes terrible photos. camera is the main down side of the aquas crystal but the battery backup is above the expectation, crstal is equipped with a 2040 mah battery which gives sufficient amount of back up that phone can stand up to 1 full day of mixed usage. In term of processing the phone is equiped with a snapdrgon 400 chipset along with that it has a 8 gigs of internal storage which is expandable up to whooping 128 gigs and ram is 1.5 gb only.
One thing you have surely missed about it is that this phone doesn't have any ear piece for taking phone call so for that this phone uses a technology which is also found on the google glass that is bone conduction, the screen of the phone vibrates like a transducer and conducts sound to the inner ear via bones of the skull so the person which is standing near by you will not be able to hear anything.
pricing of the phone is quit competitive its just 240$ dollar for off contract and 20$ with 2 years of contract from sprint.
Conclusion
The design of the phone is quit unique and it stands out in the crowd but it is not the best phone that you can get in the market in terms of hardware so it will be purely your choice that whether you wana spend 240$ on the looks or the uniqueness in design or whether you will consider performance and hardware.
